Note / Zapp Magazine invited Van Warmerdam to show a fragment of one of her films in this video magazine. Instead of showing a film fragment, she conceived the work Diving ducks. For this she filmed ducks in the canal that make a plopping sound as they dive underwater. A diving duck – complete with plop – was placed as a bumper between each of the magazine’s video chapters.
