Flip book for catalogue, 2014

Flip book for catalogue, 2014
offset, flipbook integrated in catalogue ‘Time is Ticking’
26 x 19,5 cm
edition 1.260

Note / The medium film is a time-based art, just as a book is. This thought gave Van Warmerdam the idea to make a flipbook that piggy backs on the pages of the catalogue. MvW: ‘Originally I wanted to express the speed of the flipbook in the title by calling it “Prrrrrr……” but to emphasize a book in a book seemed more to the point to me.’

screen print on 2 stickers

edition 190
publisher: Stedelijk Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven

Note / For the catalogue Single, double, crosswise the artist made two stickers that the reader could stick somewhere in the catalogue. By her own account this sticker was ‘a response to the posters Good days, bad days and compared to them also a step further’.

12 page stretch, 1996

12 page stretch, 1996
offset in catalogue ‘Semikolon’
edition 600
publisher: Portikus, Frankfurt

Note / During a relatively short period between 1995 and 1996, various organizations invited Van Warmerdam to make a contribution for a magazine, catalogue, book or poster. For the catalogue Semikolon from Portikus in Frankfurt she had a dozen pages at her disposal, so she thought, ‘What could be more obvious than to show a stretched limousine, spread over twelve pages?’
