Note / A friend of the artist was very keen to have a work by Eugène Brands, a well-known Dutch abstract expressionist painter. In a rather recalcitrant mood Van Warmerdam then made a work in the style of Eugène Brands. MvW: ‘That is repetition, isn’t it…?’
