Note / For the Blossom series Van Warmerdam made small canvases, which then served as the point of departure for her large Blossom series. MvW: ‘By reacting to the image, there is a certain accentuation of what I consider eye-catching in the print. How simple can it be? I sometimes ask myself that, but I continue to be fascinated by the phenomenon of what strikes me first about an image, and then I make the canvas anyway.’
