Note / For the commemorative coin honouring 75 years of freedom, MvW sought an image evoking the festive atmosphere of the liberation. On the reverse side of the coin we see, embossed, the number 75 in the shape of an elegant banner.
The same type of banner frames the portrait of King Willem-Alexander on the coin’s front. A union is formed by both text and image, and the two sides of the coin. The result is a coin with depth and dynamic.
